iOS 4 Code Suggests That a Verizon iPhone and an iPad 2 Are Being Field-Tested

A clever tipster pointed the folks at BGR to something rather curious hidden within iOS 4: A block of code which allows a CDMA iPhone or iPad 2 to be activated automatically without iTunes.

BGR explains that such an auto-activate code tends to show up in iOS right before a major product launch and is designed to simplify field-testing. The code is always removed right before the device launch, of course. [BGR]
