Microsoft had to eat $900 million last quarter in unsold Surface RT tablets, which might help explain that $150 price drop the other week. We'll be listening in on the earnings call later to day for any more details and to try to pinpoint exactly how many things Steve Ballmer smashed when he heard the news.
So let me get this straight: Their overall sales are being challenged by the downward trend in the PC market, AND they are incapable of capitalizing on the one market that actually IS seeing growth: tablets and mobile phones.
Looking forward to the MS apologists trying to spin that positively. Most of the leadership in that company has to go, starting with Ballmer. They've ruined a good company and are incapable of steering it to success. It's like watching a train wreck in super-slow motion.
