Here's the stuff that we didn't post today. (Until now, obviously.)

YouTube singer and guy whose friends think he's funny Julian Smith recorded a skillful love song to Apple's newest release, entitled "Got My Mac On With iPhone 3GS." While we applaud Smith's speed and his songwriting ability, we just really don't like the song. Sorry, Julian—it's not you, it's us. [YouTube]

Dude goes into AT&T store asking for an "AT&T landline phone." The kids working at the counter don't know what the hell he's talking about. SFGate reports this like the store employees weren't very helpful, but you know what? I don't know what an AT&T landline phone is either—hence the mockup. [SFGate]

Our friend Leander at Cult of Mac reports that nothing has changed regarding Apple's official position on the return of Steve Jobs to the company's helm. Great, so what we thought before is still what we should think? Officially? Wunderbar. [Cult of Mac]

As someone who hates to draw attention to himself in public, this "polite umbrella" has me caught—half of me is like, "Phew, finally something I can use to avoid umbrella-related negative interactions on New York sidewalks." But the other half of me is like, "What are you, kidding? You'd look like a freak." Either way, the sad fact is, the "polite umbrella" concept is timeless, and by timeless I mean OLD. [BBG]
