What Happened to Monday, which drops on Netflix Friday, is a dystopian scifi film where families are only allowed one child to curb the world’s exploding population. However, one father decides his identical septuplets all deserve to live. So he hides them, raises them, and names each of them after a day of the week.
Glenn Close is set to star in Amazon’s latest TV pilot, Sea Oak, about a bitter woman who comes back from the dead to seize power, seek revenge, and get the life she never had. We whole-heartedly approve of every single part of this.
There aren’t a ton of truly great movies that feature zombies. The list is short but distinguished: the works of George Romero, Lucio Fulci, 28 Days Later, and a few others. But now we need to add The Girl With All the Gifts to the list. It’s the rare zombie film that innovates the genre with skill and excitement.
