Nokia just gave us a look at their new N9 running MeeGo. It looks great, except that it's dead on arrival. But just in case you were unsure about Nokia's future plans, CEO Stephen Elop basically confirmed it's all over.
Nokia took a striking piece of unibody hardware, coupled it with a 3.9-inch curved glass touchscreen display, removed all the buttons, and topped it with an 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera and NFC. Incredible. It's called the N9. But!
Nokia's got a new teaser trailer out for their shiny N9. And, like most Nokia hardware, it's great looking! Except for what's on the screen, which, as commenters are pointing out, appears to be Symbian. Ugh. Nokia: give us Windows.
Leaked images of Nokia's N9 reveal just how eager the fading brand is for a hit. Our phone needs to be popular—why not make it look like another popular thing? The QWERTY slider is a MacBook Pro doppelganger.
For some unknown, irritating reason, slide-out QWERTY keyboards just don't seem to be in vogue anymore. Now, if only this leaked Nokia N9 was running Android, I might consider it, but MeeGo? Symbian? I dunno...
