It's almost time for the Gizmodo Home of the Future, highlighting our favorite forward-looking products from design, technology, and beyond. From May 17 to 21 you'll be able to stop by the New York City space to browse the home or pull up a seat in our co-working lounge, and we're also hosting events every day to gather together the people and ideas shaping the home of tomorrow.

All events are free and open to the public, but because space is limited, you must RSVP at the links below. We'll see you there—or perhaps we'll see your telepresence robot.

Streets of the Future: The Great Urban Debate | 2 to 4pm

Are we destined to live in the shadows of luxury supertalls, piloting our self-driving cars into oblivion? Join us for a spirited debate on the future of New York streets, from the sidewalk to the skyline. Experts from the worlds of architecture, urbanism, infrastructure, transportation, and real estate will deliver their visions for the way the city of today can—and should—transform into the megalopolis of tomorrow.

Games of the Future: Let's Play | 6 to 8:30pm

Co-Hosted with Kotaku

6 to 6:30pm: Rahul Mangharam and Orkan Telhan from the University of Pennsylvania's brand new Experience Design & Technology Lab, or xLab, will stop by Gizmodo's Home of the Future to present their bleeding-edge concepts and design prototypes that will redefine the technology of home entertainment in the years to come. Taking us over the horizon to see how all the senses will be engaged, xLab's work explores 4D experiences in everything from content-coupled fitness equipment to media-responsive children's toys.

6:30 to 8:30pm: Following xLab's presentation, the editors of Gizmodo and Kotaku will steer a live debate about the future of gaming, including the limits of gamification and the next-gen interfaces you and your friends will play with next.

May is Bike Month! Join us for a sneak peek at the future of urban commuting from a two-wheeled perspective. The kitchen of tomorrow is often portrayed as a fantasy wonderland filled with robot chefs, time-saving appliances, and meals served in the form of colorful pills. But what will our meals actually look like in the future? How much of our food will we grow at home? And what new sources of sustenance will find their way onto our plates? How will we work together tomorrow? It's not just about being independent entrepreneurs, it's about sharing resources in a way that builds community. Bryan Boyer will discuss the ways that co-working is changing and how it fits into the philosophy behind Makeshift Society, a San Francisco-based co-working space that just opened a branch in Brooklyn this month. Can't fly across the country? Don't want to get out of bed? Soon you'll be sending your telepresence robot to your meetings instead. Join us for some one-on-one time with the new you from Double Robotics to see just how easily your robot avatar will mesh with your coworkers. You'll be able to interact with and operate the robot during this demo—no matter how far away you are.

Join fashionistas and futurists alike for an exploration of the future of fashion with forward-thinking industry leaders and creatives. Designers, local fashion brands, photographers, and other New York notables will present their ideas and next-level collections, followed by a panel discussion and cocktail hour. Topics for the night include the trajectory of wearable technology, the changing nature of the fashion industry, how digital culture is affecting clothing design and vice versa, and—most importantly—what we'll all be wearing tomorrow.
