Who in their right minds releases something on aprils fools day?

I've been using 6.1 for quite a while thanks to some helpful people on various PDA forums. It works about as well as 6.0. It is a teeny bit more stable but the main advantage for me is the threaded SMS texting since my phone doesn't have a physical keyboard.

Voice command still has the same issues with WM6.1 that it did with WM6. Bluetooth still doesn't work as well on WM6.1 as the BT you use with a free phone. I'm not sure why MS doesn't actually have the resources to make BT work well-maybe they could outsource it to a bigger company.

Hopefully sprint times the RevA and GPS update for the touch with this so I can just update one ROM and be good to go.

Im not brave enough to use the hacked ROMs on the internet, I need my phone.

Nice. And it will be at least 12-18 months after that before any phones get the upgrade... seriously, it takes phone maker months and months to actually release something to the buying public. Maybe this time, the update time will be shorter.

I've been running it on my HTC S621 (Excalibur, T-Mobile Dash, etc) for a couple weeks as well. It's been great so far.

Question for you BlackJack folks:

Anyone w/a Blackjack get WM6 working with the BT DUN Profile so their TomTom can use it? I upgraded to WM6 but haven't managed to find a BlackJack Compatible DUN BT install file (ICS won't work with the TomToms for some reason not worth getting into).

Now everyone watch as I pray for someone to deliver a *customizable* (read: not stuck with lame ass buy music now buttons among others that can't be deleted) pervasive OS in addition to the super ability to punch people in the face over TCP/IP . . .

Well my t-mobile wing has windows mobile 6 without any changes to the OS so im going to download the update the same day it comes out nd upgrade. I dont need to wait for the cell carrier to make a update to support any special features besides my faves.
And i think my my faves will still work if i update it because myfaves has its own part on the phone's rom.
so basically in 7 days (8 counting today) we all get to enjoy WM6.1 And then 2 months later the xperia x1 is released hopefully sony decides to switch to nvidia processors so we all can get 720p video on it or does something to the video drivers so we can get some decent video and photo viewing on the phone.

i too was thinking like mini (april fools)... but thats also the first date of ctia wireless in vegas. microsoft will have a booth there.

i wish i could go, but i have to go to wes instead (not that i hate orlando, but 2 trips to cities other than Bumblef*ck, OR are better than none.

Palm will also be finally getting a clue of the first day of April. Actually that just wouldn't cut it as an April fools joke - its just too ridiculous.

You're joking right? I've been using WM6.1 for over a month now...
It does have improvements over 6.0 but also has some annoyances, the biggest being the SMS threading. It sucks and didn't work for me. Easy to remove through a registry tweak though.

Can't wait to check out WinMo 6.1. I love WinMo, and hopefully more updates will come out.

Hey, I got 6.1 running on my Cingular 3125 (StarTrek) and it works great.

Also working great on my 8525 :)
gotta say that it's been better than any custom roms so far.
