Q&A With The Phallic PhotobomberS

Yesterday, a long-exposure photobomb set the internet on fire. Today, creator Anthony Valle shared with Gizmodo his inspiration, aspirations, and who that poor unsuspecting girl is:

Q: Did you know at the time that you were creating a watershed moment in photobomb history?

A: Haha definitely not, I was just trying to make a dick joke.

Q: Was this pre-planned, or a spontaneous creative outburst?

A: Definitely spontaneous. The girl, Olivia, was very unaware of what was going on behind her.

Q: In either case, were other anatomical parts considered? Other shapes?

A: I tried to make it into a vagina, but it was a tough angle.

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself, and your relationship with the girl in the foreground.

A: My name's Anthony and I will be a junior at UGA this fall. The girl's name is Olivia and we've been friends since high school. She's always been pretty good at bringing out my dirty side, if ya know what I mean ;) ...and by that I mean I make dick jokes around her.

Q: What past photobombs have influenced your artistic sensibility? I see definite hints of "Seal Among Penguins" here.

A: Haha I actually had not seen that picture before. But I've always been a fan of photobombs and dick jokes, and this just seemed like a natural combination of two of my hobbies. I have been inspired by the rollercoaster pictures and even created my own: Q&A With The Phallic Photobomber

Q: What's your previous experience with long exposure photography?

A: That was my first time, I guess I'm just a natural when dealing with long exposures. Wait...

Q: Your previous experience with light-phalluses?

A: I've been known to make penis hand-shadows, but that's really it.

Q: What are you trying to convey with your work?

A: I was trying to bring notice to the sexual repression in the art expression of today.

Q: Have you received any formal training?

A: Not really, but I do own the book of the phallus collection from Superbad.

Q: And most importantly: what's next?

A: This was pretty spontaneous, so I can't say for sure. But I might be working on a double-header in the future. Maybe.
