Third Eye Blind has no shortage of hit singles. "Semi-Charmed Life," "Jumper," "Never Let You Go," "Deep Inside of You," etc, etc. If you were around and had ears in the late 90s, you know these. But one that's not usually listed up there with the rest, but still a damned good tune, is "Losing a Whole Year."
The first song off the band's self-titled 1997 debut, "Losing a Whole Year" sort of kicks off Third Eye Blind in a sense. Though its release actually followed that of "Semi-Charmed Life" and "How's it Gonna Be" and never hit the pop charts (peaking at 14 on alternative) it's still fantastically catchy complete with the Jenkin's characteristic lyrical wit. And the little scream at 2:40 is a classic in and of itself. If it's been a while since you've had a listen to the guys, maybe it's time for a little trip down memory lane. [Spotify, Amazon, iTunes]
