What could be more secure (not to mention masculine) than a rainbow colored fan that clips onto the side of a Laptop? Besides looking awesome, these screens can be customized with a company logo making them powerful promotional tools. Plus, Lapstix are versatile—you could use them to shade your laptop display from the sun, or possibly as an actual fan that can bring relief from scorching temperatures. Prices range from $2—$3 per unit when purchased in bulk, and they are available in a variety of less ridiculous colors—fortunately. [Lapstix via Coolest Gadgets]

Most obvious use: Hiding the fact that you're looking at gay porn.
Now I can finally watch hardcore porn on the Amtrak in peace.
What better way to tell all of the people in your local Starbucks "I'm probably looking at gay porn right now."
@92BUICKLESABRE
Cheers, beat me to it.
You can have all this for the low low price of your dignity!
I see one use for these things: promotional give-aways by companies at career fairs. One more "neat" thing for them to give away that has limited real use.
If anything, a brightly colored strange thing attached to the laptop will attract more attention. And if you're sitting down at a table or have the computer on your lap, anybody standing/walking near you won't have an obstructed view (especially now that your rainbow flag has their curiosity up).
Heh. Gay porn. Yeah...especially with the rainbow colors.

Er, or at Young Republican conventions...
@Skeptic: Intelligent. Insult a political party.
Either way this shit is retarded as all hell. Who thinks this shit is actually a good idea?
compared to 3M's privacy filter, these fan things looks really really sweet.
Perfect for the apple fanboy.
BTW, [www.gawker.com] is in the process of imploding, so I'm going to hand out here for a little while. Hi everybody!
...they sell these in China Town for cheap.
It only invites people, who would otherwise go about their own business, to come take a peek for their curiosities' satisfaction.
People shouldn't fan themselves, you use more energy, and thus are going to be worse off, than if you were to just sit and be hot.
