In a conference call today Activision said that their DS rendition of Guitar Hero will be hitting stores in June, and Nintendo was so impressed by the controller add-on, that they're allowing the hardware to be included with the game as a bundle set. Activision didn't discuss price or specific release day, but it's good knowing the game is coming sooner than later. Let's hope it's as awesome as the console version. [Joystiq]

Wow, that looks like I'll be able to use my left hand to play that!
How do you hold that? It looks like it would be impossible to grip.
Only four buttons?
Fail.
How about the @#$#@$@# downloadable content for the Wii version that was promised last year? This is retarded.
Am I the only guy who thinks DS's are...well...stupid?
Not only does that look incredibly awkward and complicated to play, but really, what is the point of playing Guitar Hero on a DS (definitely not guitar-like in the least)?
Unless, you know, they included one of those wireless picks. But still.
Only exception to this rule: Frets On Fire with a vintage Cherry keyboard.
The perfect gift for all of those people that think the original Guitar Hero guitar was too similar to playing an actual guitar.
@Gann:
Don't think it's a bad attempt for a handheld version. It's supposed to actually strap to the hand I think. To be honest I don't know how they would add a fifth button without covering controls (volume/ headphone input) and making the buttons smaller to add a fifth button would make it near unplayable with man sized fingers. I think the size of this will make up for the difficulty of a fifth button.
@sonburn:
I agree with you on that one. It is supposed to be strapped to the hand. Five buttons would be too difficult for the average player to play, and thus less people would buy it.
@Gann:
In an article written in the magazine "Nintendo Power", they reviewed the game. They said that the game sounds easy, but in actuality it gets quite difficult in the Expert Mode.
The strumming is also an additional challenge, for you have to strum with a pick stylus on the touch screen to strum the notes. It looks to be more difficult than normal Guitar Hero.
i still have no idea how this is supposed to work... do you hold your right hand sideways and strum sideways? something in that picture has to be wrong...
@daversW:
You hold the DS strapped to your left hand, sort of backwards with the hinge in your palm. then you strum across the touchscreen.
Its a 49.99 pre order on amazon. Its been up there for a while. RElease date is June 24.
