We talked about the P505 a few months ago and it has just been sighted in the wild over at Computex. This tri-band GSM smartphone is compact and quite shiny. However, there was an odd menu item on the main screen—a Skype client.

Clearly, this cuts directly into the revenue stream of any carrier foolhardy enough to allow this outrage to stand. However, this does mean that Skype is starting to really take off overseas and may be a nice “second carrier option” for smartphone owners willing to rotate around any DRM the carriers will use to cripple WiFi/Skype access in their devices.
