Rumors of the EOS 5D were reaching Loch Ness Bigfoot monster proportions. But today Canon came out of the wild and announced the 12.8 megapixel full-frame DSLR. The $3,299 camera features a 35.8mm x 23.9mm CMOS sensor, which is stunning in an SLR for that price. The max burst rate is 3 frames per second at full resolution, with a capacity of 60 consecutive JPEG captures and 17 subsequent RAW images. The monitor size is increased to 2.5-inches and 230,000 pixels too. The only drawback at this point is that the 35-mm frame sensor is not compatible with EF-S lenses. Photographers will be snapping it up come October.
