Crashing Dell’s party in the computer/TV biz, Hewlett-Packard introduced a new line of LCD TVs, along with announcing a plan to bring out LCD-TV models with integrated Wi-Fi capabilities in 2006. So look for 26-inch, 32-inch and 37-inch LCD-TVs with ATSC tuners, digital CableCARD slots and detachable side-mounted speakers (pricing not available yet) to be out this fall. And next year, keep your eyes open for the new panels, which will include a “wireless networking antenna” that lets you connect the TV to a remote PC, connected to a router. And there you have your very own media server. Kinda cool, but we’ll see. Expect future announcements on key partnerships with video content suppliers offering Internet services, says HP.
