As a former denizen of the sorrowful Midwest, it’s kind of scary to see that Clear Channel is creating a pirate radio station designed to insult current Clear Channel channels in order to push more Clear Channel channels. That’s kind of like a snake eating a mouse that is eating itself. Get it?
What does this mean? This means that terrestrial radio is running scared. I recently saw a print ad for Radio. Yes, Radio. Radio was advertising Radio. Not a radio station, not Clear Channel, just Radio. I, personally, haven’t listened to terrestrial pop radio since 2002 and am pleased as punch with both XM and Sirius. If you drive for any period of time during the day, you need a satellite receiver. There’s no two ways about it. Sorry, Clear Channel.
