It appears we’ve been OEMed. This f-tech beastie == this Kemiz beastie and you can be sure that some of the folks like Garmin will be using this same body in their solar solutions down the line. So what does this thing do?

So glad you asked. Well, it uses a Trimble FirstGPS chipset which stores satellite data upon start up and updates the positioning every ten minutes. This ensures that if you turn it off and then turn it on in the same general location, your Time-To-First-Fix (TTFF) is much lower. That’s really the big deal here. Then there’s the Bluetooth, which is easy to set up and initiate. The solar panel is actually the icing on a nice, Bluetooth cake and the fact that it can share a charger with an iPaq is the maraschino cherry of that selfsame cake.
