Itronix, makers of uber-rugged tablets, have created a new Duo-Touch system which uses both a touch-screen and an active digitizer for twice the tablet excitement. Aimed at the emergency services and military market, you probably might want to consider something a little lighter provided you don’t expect to be dropping yours into a pond at a slushy winter crime scene.
The base specs are extremely standard except for one wonderful option—a hard drive heater for low temperature conditions. I can just image that this is perfect for Yeti-hunting or for sharing pics with your fellow Polar Bear Club members. Other options include up to four wireless connectivity systems including GPRS, EVDO, WiFi, and Bluetooth as well as a GPS receiver for transmitting vehicle location information.
