Net-Powered PC

By

Reading time 1 minute

An interesting concept and on that could take off big in areas with a lower level of infrastructure—a PC that is powered through the Ethernet port. The system, which uses Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), can get a charge of up to 15.4 watts. Some cameras and smaller systems are already using PoE but this is a first for a full-bore computer.

Up next: Power Over Ethernet Plus that could power entire laptops with up to 35 watts. It is made by DSP Design.
