NHJ VHD-5500 Digital Jukebox

Now this is what I’m talking about. NHJ has created a really fugly 5GB player with Bluetooth headphones standard. Sure, the headphones look like a prosthetic device and the unit itself looks like a 1980s pager. At least they’re trying. Why, I ask you, don’t more manufacturers add Bluetooth? It doesn’t cost much more, it doesn’t absolutely kill the battery, and it gives back so much to the community. For fifty cents a unit, the price of a cup of coffee, you can make so many people happy.

Here’s our Gizmodo challenge to Apple et al—create a smaller Bluetooth dongle or built-in unit and nice-looking headphones. I personally know fifteen people who would entertain purchasing such a device, so that’s like $2000 right there. Come on, already. We have the technology.
