I’m getting a kernel panic from my box right now, no booting, but Pakistan has bigger problems. Their entire infrastructure is down due to a massive failure in the undersea cable connecting Pakistan with the rest of the world. Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time they’ve had country-wide failures. This one, however, is much more serious.
The system crashed late on Monday and was still down on Tuesday evening. Many offices across the country ground to a halt as people realized it was not one of Pakistan’s regular, but usually brief, technical hitches.
BTW – Anyone with m/d skillz troubleshooting Linux boxen, AIM me at superlinuxninja. Although my screen name implies an innate skill in Linux use, I’m no good when I’m troubleshooting stuff remotely sans terminal connection.
