Welcome, friends, to the decade of the living room PC. This I believe—Devices like the PLIX EMC 3200HD are finally going to start hitting the wall unit and pounding out tunes and media. I do not, however, believe Microsoft has a lock on the media center world, as evidenced by Sonos and a few other players.

This box, which looks like an old RCA VCR and contains a 200GB internal HD and a 80GB hot-swappable removable hard drive along with HD out and a DVD-RW recorder. It’s really just a 3.2-GHz monster with built-in ATI graphics but it looks like a video component, which is massively important for the living room. The major issue with most SFF and other PCs has been the nasty fan, annoying boot times, and weird quirks. These, devices, which will inundate us this year, are slowly hitting the mark.
