Pocket Rocket Preliminary Hands-on

By

Reading time 1 minute

We here at the test labs got our hands on the Pocket Rocket 2GB USB key. Instead of running benchmarks on it, which we will do very soon, I assure you, we decided to put the pocket rocket into a series of uncomfortable situations and see how it fared.

This USB key with an 18MBps read speed grew agitated when it met Diana and Phoebe but later calmed down enough to sit next to Phoebe.

More after the jump.

The USB key sat quietly when we placed it next to Phoebe. This thing is two inches long and friendly with animals. The little dongle cradle that comes with it is actually a bit big but you don’t necessarily have to use it. In terms of speed, it blows my old 512MB key away. A 400MB copy from the HD to the 512MB key took 25 minutes. A copy from the HD to the Pocket Rocket took about 15 minutes. Therefore, the Pocket Rocket is, if you ignore the obvious innuendo suggested by the name, a USB key that can shoot data very fast—hence “rocket”—and fits in your pocket. End of report.
