Sound isolating earphones are a harsh mistress. The sound they produce is so, sweet all-consuming that make regular earphones sound like the the sound-system of the Tilt-A-Whirl—tinny, loud, and annoying. However, you have to get the things deep into your ear canal, which leads to itching and eventually head paralysis. They suggest things like washing the earbuds and foppery like that, but that’s crazy talk.
Therefore, if you haven’t tried anything like the $299 E4c earphones, be forewarned. These things sound great, cost a lot, and will become the aural equivalent of heroin. They’re great at first, but they take a physical toll. Don’t come running to us when your ears break out in pustules and sores from abuse.
