Sony’s new QUALIA 002 is an HDV camera based on their “HDR-FX1” released in October of last year, with only a couple improvements. The “Vario-Tessar T*” lens has been dropped in favor of Carl Zeiss’s “Vario-Tessar SQ (Specialized for QUALIA).” I’m not even close to understanding what sort of difference that will make, so I will instead say that the QUALIA 002 also features an improved microphone. Otherwise, it is mostly the same “HDR-FX1” from last year. Expect to see the QUALIA 002 for about 598,500 yen.
