The iPhone 18 Pro Is $1,199 on Apple’s Official Site, but It’s $0 With This Trick

T-Mobile is handing out Apple's brand new $1,199 camera phone for nothing.

Let’s start with the number that matters: zero. That’s what you put down today to walk away with an iPhone 18 Pro at T-Mobile.

Here’s how it works. The 256GB iPhone 18 Pro sells for $1,199.99 and T-Mobile covers the full amount with up to $1,200 in credits spread over your bill. You switch and bring your number, or you trade in an eligible phone in any condition, on an Experience Beyond plan and the phone ends up costing you nothing (only tax on the pre-credit price and a $35 device connection charge are due at sale).

That’s a big deal this year, because prices went up and Apple isn’t really the villain: The RAM shortage has been inflating the cost of laptops, GPUs, consoles and anything else with memory inside for months. The iPhone 18 Pro arriving $100 above the iPhone 17 Pro was baked in even if that’s a modest increase, all things considered.

One thing though. Pre-orders opened September 12 and the first units ship September 18, and launch stock goes out in the order it’s claimed. If you wait a few days, your estimated delivery slides into late September and maybe even October.

A Camera Phone

Apple has been blunt about who this phone is for. The star is a mechanical aperture on the 48-megapixel main Fusion lens, with four real stops: f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 and f/4.0. This is physical, optical control over depth of field and light and not a software blur (and no iPhone has ever had it). The periscope telephoto and the ultra-wide stay at 48 megapixels, and the camera app finally hands over shutter speed and white balance. Apple Reference Image is exclusive to this generation and runs your shot through Private Cloud Compute so you keep an unalterable original to wave at any deepfake.

Underneath sits the A20 Pro which is Apple’s first 2nm chip and it comes with a GPU roughly 40% faster than the A19 Pro. The redesigned vapor chamber has three times the surface area, which means the phone holds that speed instead of throttling five minutes into a game. The battery grows to 4,288 mAh and Apple reckons a standard 18 Pro lasts as long as an iPhone 17 Pro Max did. The 6.3-inch ProMotion screen gains a Dynamic Island a quarter smaller when idle.

As for colors, black, silver and glacier blue are all lovely but burgundy is obviously the one everyone wants, so expect it to be the first to slip in availability.

Back to the T-Mobile offer, because it really is the reason to move today: The 256GB iPhone 18 Pro is $1,199.99, or $33.34 a month for 36 months with $0 due today, and the credits wipe out every cent of it over up to 36 months. You need an eligible trade-in, in any condition, on an Experience Beyond plan, and you need to be well qualified. Cancelling the account or paying the phone off early stops the remaining credits. Four discounted devices per account, for a limited time.

512GB, 1TB and 2TB versions are available too, with the credit capped at $1,200, so you cover the difference and nothing more. And if the 6.9-inch screen is calling, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is $1,200 off.
