It appears the Aibo is having some intestinal distress. The Sony Bean, which is shaped like a bean, is a small flash player with one-line OLED screen that is described as “Playful, Powerful, and Compact.” Playful and compact I can live with, but powerful might be a stretch.
The bean has a pop-up USB connector and can run for 50 hours (!!) on one charge. The beans are available in different “flavors:” Tropical Ice (Blue), Cotton Candy (Pink), Licorice (Black) and Drowned Cadaver (White). There will even be a model with a built-in FM tuner and, get this, it support’s Sony’s CONNECT service. It plays MP3s and I assure you that it will also play Sony’s vaunted and extremely popular Atrac3plus format.
