As for Farm8, It’s Going to Grow Cosmetic Plants and Hemp
Kang said that most of Farm8 is focused on producing salad greens at the moment, but that the company is looking to ramp up its production of cosmetic and medical-based plants, such as hemp, to increase its profits.
Farm8 also wants to export its smart farm system. Earlier this year, the company sent a 40-foot (12-meter) farm to South Korea’s research center in Antarctica. The Antarctic smart farm will be monitored from South Korea and provide about 4.5 pounds (2 kilograms) of vegetables per day, including chiles, zucchinis, and cucumbers. If you can grow cucumbers in the Antarctic, chances are you could grow them anywhere.
