This wee USB 2.0-compatible Skype dealie is kind of a cop-out, but it’s interesting enough to look at. It’s essentially a mini sound card that offers 16-bit audio and a phone buffer. Priced at $49, I can’t see what this does that a nice sound card/headset combo will do, but maybe I’m just not seeing it right.
Regardless, a nice, USB-enabled speaker phone or a real VOIP phone that works straight out the box is interesting to us. This, on the other hand, is only mildly interesting.
