A wee motor company based in the goatfields of Neath is offering an electric engine with enough torque to give Ferrari a run for its money.
The IMP engine uses a series of charged rotors which turn in series, like pistons. Instead of using massive, permanent magnets, this motor is extremely lightweight and can churn out 2500RPM without breaking a sweat. IMP foresees a car that uses four motors—one for each wheel—which could compete in Formula One races and may even be able to win the grueling Welsh Ydych chi wedi bod yma o’r blaen 500.
