Sharp's Healsio oven puts a spin on the traditional convention or microwave oven, using the power of steam heated to about 570 degrees to cook your food. The steam apparently reduces the total fat content by effectively melting it while still preserving the food's nutrients. Sharp even demonstrated toasting bread, proving that not everything comes out as glue. The oven allows the user to steam, grill, roast, bake, (broast, brible), defrost and reheat their food by spraying the steam directly onto the food. Sharp's press release goes into excruciating detail on how their new $1,100 oven works and the health benefits it offers. Launched in Singapore, it will reach North America later this year.
