This is a location print-up from the only classy big-box store, Target. Before Christmas, if an employee scanned a Wii, it'd just say "Wii Console." Now, it says "Wii White." Giddy fanboy deduction: Why go through the trouble of adding an additional color descriptor unless other colors were on the way?
While it's not exactly the good-word gospel straight from Reggie's mouth, if I could buy a black Wii in time for Smash Bros. Brawl, I would be so happy. Yes, I've waited to buy a Wii until it comes in black. Yes, I know, I have a problem. [Go Nintendo]

It's Nintendo, the guys who make the DS. You KNOW it's going to come in colors...
I'll remain happy with my white one since the Wii isn't a "show piece" console (I like it that way). My problem is now that my daughter will want a pink one of her own. If history predicts the future, I won't be able to get one of those until sometime after Xmas '08 :-\
I'm just hoping that I will be able to get black controllers since my Wii is in a cabinet and not visible. I've put off buying a classic controller because I want it in black but now that Geometry Wars Galaxies is coming out on friday it's gonna be hard to resist.
yeah i can confirm as I work at UPS I've seen boxes recently come through labeled Wii-Nunchuck Black and Wii-Wiimote black...its just a matter of time before the consoles roll in now.
C'mon black!
I guess you guys heard enough of that in Vegas, sorry.
I am not trying to be pessimistic here, but isn't it equally reasonable to assume that someone at Target just said "well, we should change this description in case Nintendo ever releases another color"?
you are not weird at all to wait for black. I will settle for a black controller and hide the Wii somewhere in my entertainment center to make people believe i got the black one. :)
I'd kill for a sky blue Chintento Vii.
I'd pick black and pink as the first two colors they come out with. Don't know if the blue slot would look as good on colors other than black and white.
Don't feel bad. I waited to buy my GameCube until I could get my hands on a color other than purple.
Colorwarepc is a nice alternative but it's so expensive ... I guess it's worth it for paint that will never scratch.
Life just got better?
Well I have a problem too, I haven't bought one yet either. If they want me to even consider buying one they need to make a black one or maybe red.
@Suijin: Because Nintendo really needs YOUR sale.
I cant see them being a big hurry to complicate production since it still appears they are cranking out as many as possible just to only be a little bit behind.
Aren't the Wii's still really hard to find? Soo....if they come out with multiple colors, you won't really have a "choice" -- you'll hunt and hunt, finally find a Wii in stock, but it'll turn out to be a color you really don't want. Take it or leave it buddy, that's all we got till next month.
For as long as I can remember, the box that Wii's are shipped in has said said "White" on it. As if to point out that the Wii's in this box are white.
Novachthall: Why did you wait? The Gamecube was available in purple and black on Day 1.
"Why go through the trouble of adding an additional color descriptor unless other colors were on the way?"
I usually go with the theory that the world is full of idiots. I seem to be right about 90% of the time (the other 10% are just plain fools).

As someone who Who waited a year for a Black Wii, but gave in and just picked up a white one, you haven't missed anything. On the plus side, because they're so hard to find, it will be a really appreciated hand me down.
