Filmmaker Rob Spence has made headway on his new “eye-to-eye” documentary—literally. They’ve managed to attach a LED to his prosthetic eye, making him look very Governator-esque. Hey, it could double as a flashlight too.

It’s the first time Spence and his team have managed to fit an electronic device (complete with power source) into the eye. Spence’s right eye was damaged in a childhood accident, so he’s been using a prosthetic replacement for years. He wants to create a prosthetic eye with a wireless video camera in order to film his experiences. A finished eye would turn him into the “Eyeborg.” I’m pretty sure little children everywhere will pick up on that soon enough. [New Scientist via io9]
