Meet Kevin Trudeau. Kevin's a nice guy—he's an author, annoying product pitchman, renowned conman, and convicted felon—and he's currently spending 30 days in jail for encouraging people to send emails to a federal judge. Turns out that's illegal.
You see, Kevin—who's also a radio and web personality—really wanted U.S. District Judge Robert Gettleman to take his side in a civil lawsuit. So he begged people to email the man and cheer for his case. The judge got annoyed and saw to it that Kevin got charged with contempt as he was putting the court "under attack."
Bravo, Judge Gettleman. Now can you jail all the people who keep sending me perverse emails? [Wired]
