This Is Not How You Design a Robotic Vacuum CleanerS

You've got to love design concepts. This one, for example, takes a perfectly functional product—the Roomba—and makes it completely useless by putting it in the form of a robotic dog. Sigh.

The only benefit of this reimagining of the Roomba is that it's cute. Other than that, it makes no sense whatsoever. It makes the entire device overly complicated, more expensive to manufacture, more prone to getting caught up on things and with a smaller vacuum area. It just makes no sense whatsoever.

The whole thing is an entry into the Electrolux Design Lab 2010 competition, but one's got to hope that the judges will pick something that would actually be a good idea to turn into a real product. I mean, come on. [Yanko Design]
