The year's not quite over yet, but that hasn't stopped Apple from naming the top free, paid, and grossing iPhone and iPad apps of 2010. And no, it's not the Angry Birds sweep you might have expected.
The incredibly addictive birds v. pigs saga did take the Top Paid iPhone spot, but had to settle for silver in Top Free and Top Grossing, which went to Facebook and MLB at Bat 2010, respectively. MLB at Bat's a $15 download in-season, if you were wondering why it came out ahead. On the iPad side, Apple's own apps scored a clean sweep: its $10 Pages word processor was the Top Paid and Top Grossing app, while its iBooks was the Top Free app.
