How cool would it be if you could draw on your window and have the drawings move along with the car? Cool enough to keep the kids quiet for a few hours, don’t you think?

This type of interactive automobile window technology isn’t science fiction. It’s actually being developed by Toyota and the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design in a concept project known as “Window to the World.”

The researchers will embed a touchscreen into a standard automobile window and create an interactive slate for those sitting in the backseat. You could draw on the window, pinch to zoom to get a close glimpse of what’s outside or use it to display information about the surrounding landscape.

It’s a concept now, but Toyota Motor Europe hopes it will land in your Land Cruiser sometime in the near future. [Autoblog]
