Harry Brown: The Movie In Which Alfred Turns Into Bloody Batman

I love Michael Caine. He's one of the last Great Ones of cinema history. Harry Brown is one of his best acting jobs, the story of "a retired Marine who decides to take the law into his own hands" after some gang members murder his last living friend.

I know what you are thinking, but no, this is not your typical unrealistic crime revenge/action movie. All the contrary. Yes, it has violence—plenty—but its slow pace, the oppressive atmosphere, the realistic grittiness and Caine's superb performance sets it apart from your typical Hollywood genre rubbish. After all, it's a British movie.

A good dark British movie for a Tuesday night. [Netflix]
