Toy Fair is full of lame jigsaw puzzles, toy horses, and other antique things nobody cares about anymore. But! There’s also plenty of unreleased Star Wars, Spider Man, and other stuff that makes us feel like excited kids again. Lightsabers!
Of all the figurines and goofy weapons we put our paws on, the new versions of Darth Maul’s dual saber were standouts. There’s the glass-tubed Force FX model, which should run at least a couple hundred dollars, and a plastic collapsable model that whips open in a highly satisfying manner—and will be a lot safer to clunk people in the arm with.
Look for all of this geeky bounty to drop throughout this year—of course, movie-related toys will surface surrounding the movie’s arrival in theaters. The new version of Battleship lets you play as aliens! Aliens. I just don’t think I can support that—who will ever want to play as aliens?
