If you wish someone a happy birthday on Facebook, and you use that machine gun autofire box in the top right of your news feed to do it, you’re half assing it. And now you can give just as little effort to your friends’ weddings and engagements.
Facebook’s adding weddings and engagements to that little box at the top of your news feed, and it’s going to add other big celebrations in the near future. That’s prooobably a net positive, even if it makes the events themselves feel more disposable. [Facebook via Verge]
