Amazon will sell you just about anything through its subsidiaries, and now it’s adding a new site targeted specifically at a wide swath of dirty hippies environmentally-minded citizens.

Vine is a new enterprise operated by Amazon’s Quidsi, the same company that runs Diapers.com and Soap.com. The idea is to sell people products that they can feel good about buying (environmentally speaking). You see, unlike evil retailers, Vine has standards:

We review the claims of all our products to make sure they are either organic, natural, energy- or water-efficient; run on their own renewable energy; are made from sustainable materials; or contribute to a healthier home.

If people are willing to go out of their way to do a little good with their dollars, why not help them with a store where they can spend their paper stacks ethically? Now if only Vine and Amazon could do something about needing to ship all those products to your home. [Bits]
