For way, way too long, AT&T blocked us from using the data we were paying for to make FaceTime video calls. Why? No good reason at all. But the blockage is over, and the good news is it works fantastically.

Although Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi calls still have an edge in terms of picture and fluidity, LTE to LTE is still damn good. We didn’t observe any appreciable lag or jitters. And this isn’t surprising, really, because AT&T’s LTE is more reliable than a lot of residential broadband connections.

Now AT&T, please, unshackle our faux “unlimited” accounts and let the rest of us FaceTime out in the wild, too.
