This Coiled Cultural Center Could Be the Guggenheim’s Long Lost Cousin

This spiraling building is the proposed design for a cultural center in Norway. Look familiar? It reminds us of a stripped-down Guggenheim Museum.

The building was imagined by Portuguese firm Cerejeira Fontes Architects. It’s marked by a winding series of overlapping concrete spaces with a cantilevered tail on the end. The elliptical form provides for a green space in the middle, and there’s seating for events on the slanted roof. It’s just a proposed design, but it looks like it could be a relative of the iconic cake-like NYC institution. [DesignBoom via Juxtapoz]
