All the President’s Men (1976)
It’s the story that launched a thousand journalism careers. Robert Redford (again) and Dustin Hoffman play Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, the two Washington Post reporters who broke the Watergate story. The great, late Hal Holbrook plays “deepthroat,” Woodward’s famous source that encouraged the reporters to “follow the money.” This film, which is directed by Alan J. Pakula (also the director of The Parallax View and other conspiracy thrillers), was nominated for eight Academy Awards and won three.
