13. Follow Local Guides
Google Maps is actually trying to be something of a social network as well: Tap on the Explore tab then swipe up on the info card, and you’ll see suggestions for people to follow, which will put their photos, reviews and tips in the Updates tab. You can add users who review a lot of places in your area or family and friends that you know to get their opinions—all these sources can be useful when it comes to discovering new locations.
