Intruders isn’t just one short, it’s three. All interwoven as the results of a deadly haunting, but each one could stand alone. In Intruders, Santiago Menghini effectively uses a bunch of horror techniques to create different kinds of dread.
“5:45” is all atmospheric, almost mundane horror. “Jacov” uses suspense to terrify the audience with an attack you know must be coming. And “Inspector” is all about the reveal at the end. And then, for fun, count all the different kinds of “intruders” that appear. It’s not just the supernatural.
