M-Systems has released a monster flash drive, clocking in at 90GB of storage. It’s ridiculously expensive, of course — “under $40,000” is all the company’s flack will say — but it should find plenty of takers in the military. M-Systems is also offering lower-cost versions of the solid-state ATA hard drive, with a 4GB model running a “mere” $2,000. That should tempt several vendors of ruggedized laptops, for whom magnetic media are an anathema.
