Earlier this month, Apple unveiled is new lineup of products to take us through the end of the year and into 2027. Lots of the announcements came in exactly as expected. The iPhone is now up to 18 with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The Apple Watch Series 11 is getting replaced with—you guessed it—the Apple Watch Series 12. And now we’re on the fifth generation of AirPods with the AirPods 5.
The one thing that came as a complete surprise for many, however, is the iPhone Duo. Apple has finally entered the game of foldable smartphones, and space Samsung has been solely dominate in now for some time. The iPhone Duo has been compared to an iPad, being able to open up to double its sized for a more tablet-like experience. It’s pretty impressive, but sadly pretty expensive too. It’s starting price for just the 128GB model is $1,999 and it goes as high as $3,199 at its highest tier. That is hard to justify for many.

If you’re interested in having an iPad-like experience without dropping two grand or more on the new iPhone Duo, might I instead recommend you just get an iPad? The 11-inch Apple iPad with the A16 chip has come down in price by 11%. It’s usually sold for $449, but the discount saves you $50 bringing it to just $400. That is much more reasonable. Plus, if you current iPhone is still doing its job, there’s no need to replace just yet.
That pricing is for the Wi-Fi-only model. The iPad is able to achieve fast network speeds thanks to Wi-Fi 6, but some users may prefer the flexibility you get by also having cellular.
If you want cellular support as well, good news. That model is also on sale. The Wi-Fi plus cellular Apple iPad is usually selling at $599, but a 5% discount is now taking it down $30 to just $569 for a limited time.
This version of iPad also comes as three different options for storage capacity, either 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. It also comes in four different colors including silver, blue, pink, and yellow. The following is a price breakdown for the cheapest option at each storage level:
