Acer’s Aspire 1501LCe gets high marks from BIOS, with a powerful Athlon 64 processor and ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 pushing the desktop replacement machine to greatness all while providing an unbelievable 4 hours and 45 minute battery life. It’s cheap, too, at only around $1,400, but of course is lots of corner cutting, with no integrated WiFi, DVD burning, or Bluetooth. Even the screen is a measly 1,024 x 768 resolution. Still, if mobile gaming (or other horsepower-heavy processing) is your goal, that’s a lot of laptop for not a lot of money.
