EverythingUSB reviews the ADS USB Instant TV, an $80 USB 2.0 box that acts as an external TV tuner which can, along with the included software and Windows XP (required), turn your PC into a middling-quality, audio-sputtering PVR. It’s not all awful, they say, but slow performance and strange clicking noises make the ADS USB Instant TV sound as if it is best left to those that need a bare-minimum of performance out of their TV tuner. Fortunately, it also has a bare minimum price.
