ADT Blu is a self-installed home security system that puts ADT’s professional monitoring behind a DIY setup you can put together yourself in minutes. The ADT+ app on your phone controls everything, from arming and disarming the system to viewing live video from connected cameras, talking through the two-way audio, and receiving motion alerts. Standalone cameras start at $69, and full kits range from $249 to $389. Adding ADT’s optional Pro-Protect professional monitoring plan cuts 40% off select kits.

A new way to secure your home and keep your family safe

Cameras in the Blu lineup do more than passively record. AI processing on the video feed distinguishes between a person walking up to the front door, a car pulling into the driveway, and a package being dropped off on the porch. Two-way audio through the camera speakers also lets you talk to whoever the camera picks up, from anywhere your phone has a signal.

The ADT+ app is the control panel for the entire Blu system. Arming and disarming happen from your phone, with location-based automation available for setting the system to arm when the last family member leaves the house. Motion alerts push notifications to the app when a sensor trips, and connected cameras stream live video through the same interface. Two-way audio also lets you speak through the cameras from anywhere, useful for greeting a delivery driver or checking on a pet at home.

Professional monitoring is optional on ADT Blu, not required. Self-monitoring lets you handle motion alerts and video events on your own through the app, without any monthly fee. Activating ADT’s 24/7 professional monitoring network gives you a monitored alarm response, where trained operators contact you and dispatch emergency services if needed. Both options are available without a long-term contract, and you can switch between them as needs change over time.

Building out an ADT Blu system happens in stages. Starter kits include the basic components such as a hub, a sensor pack, and a camera. Adding more cameras, door sensors, motion detectors, or smart home devices to the system over time is done through the ADT+ app, without needing a technician or an upgrade fee. The system grows alongside your household needs, whether that means adding a video doorbell after a move or installing extra sensors when a baby starts crawling.

ADT’s 150+ year history in professional home security is the foundation the Blu platform is built on. The 24/7 monitoring network, the equipment quality, and the app experience all come from the same ADT that’s been protecting homes since the 1870s. Standalone cameras start at $69, and complete kits range from $249 to $389. The 40% discount on select kits with the Pro-Protect monitoring plan is available now at Amazon, ADT.com, and by phone at 1-800-ADT-ASAP.
